While clothes may not make the woman, they certainly have a strong effect on her self-confidence which, I believe, does make the woman. Mary Kay Ash

This fall is all about the boots, right? So let’s enjoy the rest of the summer and it’s time for you to take off your booties.
My top favorites boots/booties:

Summer in the city means cleavage, cleavage, cleavage… and you don’t need to be Regina Spektor to know it. I am happy to see a high waist floral skirt; I think it was about time. Today Dolores Park was jammed: everyone talking, drinking, smoking, laughing and chilling. Finally I could see girls wearing her summer dresses and skirts and guys their bermudas (maybe their skinny jeans were drying out). I refuse to complain about the super hot weather because I absolutely ADORE IT! I prefer to be melting in 100 degrees than carrying a cardigan plus a jacket and scarf…
Flowers are not only good for dating (remember when guys used to send flowers to your house?) They are also fabulous prints for your summer and even fall attire. For further possible looks please check out polyvore

Lay down your arms, give up the fight and start to write. Ada Leverson once said “you don’t really know a woman until she writes you a letter”. Silvi Alcivar, shown in the picture above, owns “The Poetry Store”. She sells her poems for minimum $5. If you were yesterday at the Street Festival you must have seen her vintage inspired stand. Different frames with poems, boxes full of papers and a sign that says “send a poem by post or post card” was enough for me to get inspired.
I guess this is becoming a trend here. To see two people with a typewriter (that is not lightweight nor easy to carry) in the same event is kind of interesting. I guess that selling a handwritten poem is not as special as one made from a typewriter machine. For sure, words when read acquire a special flavor, sometimes it could be sweet, floral or dusty but the smell is also part of the experience. Usually when I read a poem my sense of smell relates to the moment. For example, if I read about victory I could smell a mint fragance. In any case you should experience by yourself and read, taste and smell her poems (please bear with me on my sensorial imagination). The idea of selling freshly baked poems rocks! What would have done Edgar Allan Poe if he was born in the 80’s?
Silvia was wearing a super cute crimson crochet hat, a black wool coat and was typing with her fingerless gloves in her red Royal typewriter. It always catches my eye when an artist has a cool polished style… don’t get me wrong, I like the urban-distressed-style too.
If you want to buy a knitted hat, I must recommend Hortensia. One of my best friends gave me one of her hats as a Christmas gift and I absolutely adore it, and every time I wear it, compliments fly from everywhere. For the fingerless gloves you should check out Shopbop and for the coat please go to your favorite thrift shop. (If you really need extra help check out BlueFly)

re·in·vent (r n-v nt )
tr.v. re·in·vent·ed, re·in·vent·ing, re·in·vents
- To make over completely
- To bring back into existence or use
- To do something again, from the beginning, especially in a needless or inefficient effort.
- To recast something familiar or old into a different form.
He was setting down, while all the madness occurred @ the street festival.Under the same sun you could find live music, vendors, laughs and all different type of conversations. What I loved? His little board sign and the fact that he is a poet, a true artist. He did not asked for a specific amount of money for his poems –which made him even more interesting- because he is standing in this thin gray line where art is priceless or what you think it should worth.
Think about it, could you find a better way to reinvent you as an artist? This is one of the things that I love the most about the city, the PEOPLE and their way of pursuing life. No matter what you do and how you do it… the bottom line is to do what you want.
He asked me if I wanted a poem, I replied that I would love if I could take him a picture. Using a vintage Smith-Corona typewriter he typed in a little piece of recycled paper a poem (could he make anything cooler?)
