Her style: Faux fur 3/4 trench coat + liquid leggings + wellington boots + oversized shades. The fact that she wore the liquid leggings in such a casual way was great. Her key item -the one that I liked the most- was the trench, the oversized faux collar was to-die-for. Usually you could find items like that in vintage stores and they are timeless.
His style: I liked the messy look of his skinny jeans with the motorcycle boots (you gotta look closer but the boots tied up at different heights). His scarf and big sports coat balance the slim fit of the jeans. Last but not least his bike is super cool!

H&M did it again. Having a recognized designer to create an exclusive collection for them has become something we wait to see every year. Karl Lagerfeld started in 2004 on a collection that was reported to be sold within an hour. Stella McCartney was 2005′s guest and it was a madhouse: at that time I was attending to school in NYC and we were assigned a project to analyze the launching of the collection. I remember a line that started at 6 am (the store opened at 10am) with girls so excited that grabbed everything as they ran like kids, and the best thing is I was able to buy a light beige trench coat that I still have, wear and LOVE! Viktor & Rolf collaborated in 2006; Madonna and Roberto Cavalli in 2007; Comme des Garçons in 2008 and Matthew Williamson, Jimmy Choo and Sonia Rykiel (lingerie) in 2009.
Living in San Francisco have some perks. I went today to H&M to see the collection French designer Sonia Rykiel -released on Feb 20th- and I saw a lot of items. Nathalie Rykiel -daughter of Sonia- said in H&M magazine that “fashion shouldn’t be so serious. It’s abut having fun, being light-hearted and playing. H&M is all about having fun with fashion, it fits well with Rykiel philosophy”. It was a vibrant collection with chic shapes in hot colors and a boost of graphics captured in shirts, light jackets, soft jumpsuits and fun accessories. Even though I went with the idea to see the “leftovers” I was surprised to see a lot of the pieces I saw previously on the catalog. I tried them on, and I must confess that the fit was slightly off. I am a tall girl (5,11″) and usually wear sz 6 dresses, but on her collection, everything was big. The few pieces I bought were small (believe me I paid them with a BIG smile, and I am about to wear them inside out).

Not everyone can pull the over-the-knee boots. Certainly Brenda did…. and she actually did it with the liquid leggings (Isn’t that cool?)

When you sit down in a cool spot and start taking pictures, you realize that at least 40% of the people have the same accessory: A CUP OF COFFEE. It’s true that today the city was slightly chillier, but still. The trend leans to have a coffee while you sit and think or while you rush down the street.
On the first picture I was amazed by her absence… she was just there drinking and thinking (would have paid to be in her head for 5 seconds). The classic trench with the tights and booties made the rest of the picture.
The second guy was rushing down the street. He was cool… oversize headphones? hoody sweatshirt, leather bike jkt and classic Vans are the hippest trend, and he pulled it off in a good way. (To be trendy sometimes sucks).

Last night SF danced non stop. Chromeo rocked the house!
Couldn’t find a better way to celebrate that my camera is fully recovered!
Love you all,

Who said you can’t wear herringbone, stripes and color at the same time?
Mr. Miranda is certainly not afraid of experimenting.
Head-to-toe Ralph Lauren (Why? because he is a RL consultant)

It’s all about the jacket. It’s all about the layering. It’s all about the leggings and boots! Can’t find a problem with her fearless, textured, cropped kind-of-bubble-sleeve jacket. Fall is closely attached to jackets and layering…. Well, who I’m trying to fool? Here in SF, almost everyday, you need to have your cardigan/jacket handy or you will be in a big trouble. I wouldn’t change anything she is wearing and how she pulls it together. I could define her outfit as easy, comfortable and trendy.
I like to sit down and see people walk. She was walking with a quick/marching pace, looking straight to the end of the street. She was determined –don’t know to what?- but she was walking confidently. I took several pictures from far away, but this one was the only where her outfit was perfect. Yves Saint Laurent once said “dressing is a way of life”; and I am confident that she is expressing her lifestyle with her jacket and sunglasses.
For this “Fall” look for every single jacket in your closet, specially for those you think the size is “too small”. It looks great when you add to your outfit a shrunken jacket. Regarding the riding boots, they are a MUST; there is nothing more comfortable than walking with flat boots.
Where to shop?
For jackets (leather, wool, cashmere, denim, tweed, etc.) check out Intermix and Top Shop
For boots (riding, booties, biker, etc.) check out Net-a-porter and Bergdorf Goodman

Whatcha gonna do? whatcha gonna do when they come for you?
Skater boys are all around the city, jumping stairs, benches, or laughing around. Love how they all have the same dress code; I am sure that if you are a skater dude/chick and you try to dress differently you will be AUTOMATICALLY out of the gang. Vans, Adidas, Reebok, Nike and Converse are the only shoe brands they seem to wear –even though they couldn’t care less for labels-. What do you need? A T-shirt o shirt, a pair of old jeans or khakis, old sneakers and a cool accessory could be a hat or sunglasses (wayfarer Ray Ban’s ring a bell?). It surprises me that they are always smiling, I am sure that if I do a public opinion poll the majority of the locals will agree that they have a cool vibe/attitude.
