Her style: Faux fur 3/4 trench coat + liquid leggings + wellington boots + oversized shades. The fact that she wore the liquid leggings in such a casual way was great. Her key item -the one that I liked the most- was the trench, the oversized faux collar was to-die-for. Usually you could find items like that in vintage stores and they are timeless.
His style: I liked the messy look of his skinny jeans with the motorcycle boots (you gotta look closer but the boots tied up at different heights). His scarf and big sports coat balance the slim fit of the jeans. Last but not least his bike is super cool!

I love my bike…. If you come to San Francisco you will see me around the city taking pictures. It was awesome to see everyone in Europe riding their bikes. What I liked about them? It’s quite a challenge to explain… besides the obvious things (her boots, leggings and nice tunic dress with a belt) I liked the fact that she had a lot stuff over her bike. Her briefcase, coat and scarf were hanging on the handlebar and usually they land in the shotgun seat of your car.
It is interesting that no matter how were the weather conditions (rainy, cold, hot, slippery, icy, day or night) you will thousands of persons riding happily to their final destination. One of the things that I’ve learned in San Francisco is that life is different when you ride it and that fashion will always adapt.
This season the boots are high in the sky!
Not everyone can pull the over-the-knee boots. Certainly Brenda did…. and she actually did it with the liquid leggings (Isn’t that cool?)

It’s all about the jacket. It’s all about the layering. It’s all about the leggings and boots! Can’t find a problem with her fearless, textured, cropped kind-of-bubble-sleeve jacket. Fall is closely attached to jackets and layering…. Well, who I’m trying to fool? Here in SF, almost everyday, you need to have your cardigan/jacket handy or you will be in a big trouble. I wouldn’t change anything she is wearing and how she pulls it together. I could define her outfit as easy, comfortable and trendy.
I like to sit down and see people walk. She was walking with a quick/marching pace, looking straight to the end of the street. She was determined –don’t know to what?- but she was walking confidently. I took several pictures from far away, but this one was the only where her outfit was perfect. Yves Saint Laurent once said “dressing is a way of life”; and I am confident that she is expressing her lifestyle with her jacket and sunglasses.
For this “Fall” look for every single jacket in your closet, specially for those you think the size is “too small”. It looks great when you add to your outfit a shrunken jacket. Regarding the riding boots, they are a MUST; there is nothing more comfortable than walking with flat boots.

Leggings: I wore them to death when I was little (as almost every girl from my generation, born in the 80’s). Then I stopped, they were not trendy anymore, and back to them in 2005! (I have had a love-hate relationship ever after, almost like a boyfriend-girlfriend thing). For a moment I thought this trend was fading out, that its time was over, but no… every single magazine/website is working hard on extending their days in the market. Last year I saw the liquid leggings for the first time; it’s a super cool nylon/spandex blend…
You can wear them with an oversized shirt, a dress, a skirt, a tank top… with flats, high heels, sneakers, boots or oxford shoes; it’s your choice, your call!

Avalove was one of the many designers that caught my eYe at the festival. Silk screening fun t-shirts, dresses, cardigans and jackets.
Avalove is a poet publishing her work on tees. You could read some of her work and get familiarized with her spirit. She considers each of her prints as a lithograph, hand-printed limited edition. Her pieces are not mass produced, are designed, printed, cutted and sawn in Los Angeles and a friend will help her with the silk screening in NYC.
