Give it away, give it away, give it away now. If you are concerned about the environment and committed to making a difference, you need to take action. Years has passed, your sneakers are worn out, truly, madly, deeply destroyed. They are in such bad shape that you will be embarrassed to donate them. You could start by recycling your athletic shoes with Nike’s Reuse-A-Shoe.

How does it work?

Bring your ANY BRAND athletic shoes (running shoes, sneakers, etc.), shoes that DO NOT contain any metal. (Please clean your shoes before dropping them)

Where should you drop your shoes?

Any Nike retail stores in the U.S., as well as National Recycling Coalition centers and other locations in the U.S., Europe and Australia (pls check here).

What’s going to happen with the shoes?

After processed they could become part of a basketball court, track, field or playground – and pre-consumer material could even get used in new shoes and apparel.

*-*- Come on, just do it! And kinldy spread the voice…

keds-x-loomstate

Who doesn’t remember Kelly Kapowski from Saved by the Bell wearing her keds? Keds were part of the 80′s and early 90′s. Now things have changed; they are SO back.

Keds, with the help of Loomstate, produced their first eco-friendly shoe. Loomstate is a clothing company which produces high quality, durable organic clothing. Starting this month five different prints of the Keds classic Champion silhouette will be sold exclusively at selected Barneys stores (and will cost $75). Keds by Loomstate is made of 100% certified organic uppers and linings, nickel free eyelets and 100% recycled insole boards. For the special edition sneakers Keds will take recycled shoeboxes and re-purpose them as the shoeboxes for the collection.

It’s also cool to know that Barneys New York, Loomstate and Keds are all members of 1% For the Planet. The Organic Exchange, whose mission is to deliver sustained environmental, economic and social benefits through expansion of organic agriculture, will be the beneficiary from each pair of organic sneakers sold.

Definitely, green is the new black!

Ok, ok… where to start?

He works for American Apparel, she is his friend. They look great together, with their kind of matching flavors.

He is keeping it simple, playing the famous you can’t go wrong card, with a pullover hoodie, skinny jeans and black Keds sneakers. **Note: apparently is not clear for everyone that it’s cool to keep it simple**

She is doing everything I -personally- LOVE:

1.- The boyish cardigan, that’s the same length that the mini dress

2.- The thigh-high socks. –Available at americanapparel.net-

3.- The shoes: patent two color brogues.

4.- Pop of color -very subtle though-  of  her briefcase/handbag

5.- The hair color + hair cut

6.- Her attitude –very sweet and shy-

It was impossible for me to pass them by without taking 2 pictures…
