Whatcha gonna do? whatcha gonna do when they come for you?
Skater boys are all around the city, jumping stairs, benches, or laughing around. Love how they all have the same dress code; I am sure that if you are a skater dude/chick and you try to dress differently you will be AUTOMATICALLY out of the gang. Vans, Adidas, Reebok, Nike and Converse are the only shoe brands they seem to wear –even though they couldn’t care less for labels-. What do you need? A T-shirt o shirt, a pair of old jeans or khakis, old sneakers and a cool accessory could be a hat or sunglasses (wayfarer Ray Ban’s ring a bell?). It surprises me that they are always smiling, I am sure that if I do a public opinion poll the majority of the locals will agree that they have a cool vibe/attitude.

Give it away, give it away, give it away now. If you are concerned about the environment and committed to making a difference, you need to take action. Years has passed, your sneakers are worn out, truly, madly, deeply destroyed. They are in such bad shape that you will be embarrassed to donate them. You could start by recycling your athletic shoes with Nike’s Reuse-A-Shoe.
How does it work?
Bring your ANY BRAND athletic shoes (running shoes, sneakers, etc.), shoes that DO NOT contain any metal. (Please clean your shoes before dropping them)
Where should you drop your shoes?
Any Nike retail stores in the U.S., as well as National Recycling Coalition centers and other locations in the U.S., Europe and Australia (pls check here).
What’s going to happen with the shoes?
After processed they could become part of a basketball court, track, field or playground – and pre-consumer material could even get used in new shoes and apparel.
*-*- Come on, just do it! And kinldy spread the voice…

Tourists visiting from Switzerland -eYe have seen quite a few of them in the city- In this case I like the kind-of-similar-look they have. It’s amazing how you see this phenomenon around SF.

Fillmore Street has a friendly neighborhood feel, while filled with unique and delightful stores, restaurants and coffee. Walking down the street my attention was captivated by a song –from Bloc Party-, turned my head and there it was a super cool store -The Brooklyn Circus SF-. Went inside and must confess that the store setup is amazing. The vintage inspired setting provides a unique intimate shopping environment very inviting, not only to do some shopping but also to have fun.
The clothing is really catchy, casual with pop art elements and limited –who doesn’t like limited edition pieces?-. They carry selective specialty brands (example: Nudie Jeans, 10 Deep, Imported Nike, Creative Recreation, Rich Yung, Maharishi, and Free Gold Watch) and on their own The Brooklyn Circus label and BKc private Collection. The lifestyle brand offers a wide variety of clothing, accessories, traveling bags for his and hers.
While doing some research about the brand I found that their first store was opened 3 years ago in Brooklyn/New York. The Brooklyn Circus and BKc brands are now offered in specialty shops in San Francisco, LA, Chicago and Japan and available globally through their online shop (www.thebkcircus.com/shop)
It’s a PLUS that they have a blog. They promote and inspire the shoppers by conveying and expressing their journey as young entrepreneurs that are pursuing their passion.
The Brooklyn Circus SF is located @ 1521 Fillmore Street, San Francisco CA
